Train: Vijay Sethupathi and Mysskin Reunite for a High-Octane Action Thriller
The makers of Train, director Mysskin's much-anticipated action thriller starring Vijay Sethupathi, have unveiled a gripping teaser that has fans and film buffs buzzing. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the V Creations banner, the film is confirmed for a theatrical release in August.
The 43-second teaser plunges viewers straight into chaos — a speeding train hijacked by a ruthless group, terrified passengers bracing for their lives, and one man, played by Vijay Sethupathi, taking them on single-handedly. The train, barreling past every scheduled stop like an unstoppable force, sets up a tense central mystery: who are these hijackers, what's their mission, and can one man really stop them?
True to Mysskin's signature style, Train promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller layered with emotional depth. At the film's grand audio and teaser launch — held at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai, complete with a replica train set — producer Thanu revealed that an elaborate eight-compartment train was specially built for the film, the biggest production of its kind for him. He also shared a rare vote of confidence: this was one of the few films he backed without insisting on hearing the script first, entirely on trust in Mysskin.
Mysskin, in an emotional address, revealed he wrote the script with Vijay Sethupathi in mind from the start, calling the actor "an extraordinary human being" and "a volcano of talent," noting that most of his scenes were wrapped in a single take. Vijay Sethupathi, in turn, called working with Mysskin a long-awaited dream, praising the director's constant encouragement on set.
The film also stars Nasser, Shruti Haasan, Ira Dayanand (making her Tamil debut as the female lead), Preethi Karan, Diya Sharma, Narain, K.S. Ravikumar, Sampath Raj, and Kalaiyarasan, among others. Mysskin has written, directed, and composed the music for the film, with cinematography by Fowzia Fathima.
With its scale, star power, and Mysskin's signature intensity, Train is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Tamil releases this August.
