The much-awaited trailer for Batwara 1947 has officially been released, offering audiences a powerful glimpse into an emotional story set against the backdrop of India's Partition. Featuring an impressive ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, Preity G. Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol, the historical drama is set to arrive in cinemas on August 14.
The trailer opens with the poignant line, "Har insaan ka pehla mazhab MAA hai" ("Every person's first religion is their mother"), setting the tone for a deeply emotional narrative centered on humanity, family, sacrifice, and the devastating impact of the 1947 Partition.
Directed and written by acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 explores one of the most defining chapters in South Asian history through the lives of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances. The screenplay has been penned by Santoshi, while the dialogues are co-written with renowned writer Asghar Wajahat.
One of the film's biggest highlights is the collaboration between legendary filmmaker Aamir Khan, who serves as producer alongside Aparna Purohit, and Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who has created the film's music. The songs feature lyrics by celebrated poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, adding emotional depth to the historical drama.
